The name, La Cucina Flegrea, is derived from Campi Flegrei, an
area just outside Naples, which has been known from mythological times. The name means Phlegraean Fields comes from the greek phlegràios which means ‘burning plains’ due to the volcanic activity which clearly appeared to the first Greek sailors and continues to characterize this area. Campi Flegrei is an area as rich in archeological remains as it is in gastronomic specialties.
The cuisine of this region is part of the celebrated Mediterranean
diet. Some of its specialties have been included in the “Menu
Giornaliero” (Daily Menu). Others will be offered within the
“Specialita Del Giorno” or (Daily Special). Our features range from
the unique Flegrea Contorni (Side Dishes) to delicious traditional
dishes. With great pride, we bring you this classical Italian and
Mediterranean fare for you to enjoy.
